Bora prioritizes source control by managing chemical classification, storage, and usage in line with SOPs for laboratory safety, health, and chemical management. The company maintains detailed records to track chemical flow and ensure regulatory compliance. A toxic chemical assessment mechanism has been established, requiring collaboration between the responsible units and the Environmental Health and Safety Department to prevent pollution and health risk—supporting safe, compliant, and sustainable chemical management.

- Enhance on-site management of chemical substance usage and storage, ensuring all operational records are complete and compliant.
- Promote IoT-based monitoring to improve tracking, reconciliation mechanisms, enhancing disaster response information, and optimizing general hazard education and training.
- Conduct regular emergency drills to familiarize staff with leakage response procedures, minimizing the impact of unexpected incidents on the environment and personnel.
Hazardous Substance Management and Measures
To minimize risks from hazardous substances, Bora has established a Hazardous Chemical Exposure Assessment and Tiered Management Report as part of its chemical management strategy.
The management framework covers the handling of chemicals, toxic substances, and precursor chemicals. Responsibility is shared between designated personnel from user units and the Environmental Health and Safety (EHS) team, following the SOPs for Laboratory Safety, Health, and Chemical Management. This coordinated approach helps prevent major incidents and reduces risks to both the environment and human health.
Achievements in Hazardous Substance Management
Bora has achieved significant milestones in hazardous substance management. In line with the Toxic and Concerned Chemical Substances Control Act, the company has obtained approvals for documents covering 20 types of Class 1 to Class 3 toxic substances, 17 types of Class 4 toxic substances, and 7 types of concerned chemical substances. Monthly usage reports are submitted as required. The Zhubei and Zhunan plants have completed annual priority chemical reporting, operational records, and emergency response training in accordance with regulations, ensuring chemical operations comply with legal standards. Inspections by the Environmental Protection Bureau and Science Park Bureau have found no discrepancies.
